weekend love

Okay.  It's almost August...and we're making it!  And we're going to make it!  This weekend consisted of some pretty fun things.  Some planned, some unplanned.  One said planned event was heading to the Mountain Sage for a Crooked Still show to celebrate a birthday for my good friend, Crystal.  I LOVE the Mountain Sage.  It's a plant nursery/coffee shop/store with local goods/visitor center/concert venue all in one.  Great coffee too (we had breakfast there following the show)!  Crooked Still was amazing as well.  Love me some bluegrass!

Next up, my college roommate and her husband were up for a quick trip to Yosemite.  Such great times to see them as always.  My friend is 8ish month pregnant so I wondered if there might be a baby born in my apartment.  Good thing is...despite altitude and walking around quite a bit...no baby (yet)!  My friend is a trooper!

I had big plans for today to head up to the high country and do a 14 mile hike.  I packed my lunch, got all my stuff together, and set the alarm for 5 am to make the 2 hour drive and get up there around 8.  When I woke up this morning, I thought it was too light for 5 am...and it was because it was 9:00!  I had totally slept through my alarm, dashing my dreams of a 14 mile hike.  So what's a girl to do?  Head to the river and swim.  Super nice, and my chaco tan is getting pretty awesome (along with my ranger's/farmer's tan).  Summer is here and I need to take advantage of it!  But still looking for those jobs, like always (like many people are these days)!

And I would just like to say to the month of August, please be nice to us...it's been a tough year already!
