and your holiday was...

good? I hope so. I understand why some people dread this time of year but I hope I'm never like that. I love this time of year! We spent Thanksgiving at my grandparent's house in Iowa (as is tradition) along with my brother and his kids. Just so you know...my nephew is a genius...he knows where and what his esophagus is...I can't say that about many two year olds! We also played a fair amount of football outside (thank you global warming for making the holidays nice!). Someday I will take pictures and post them because really...they're the cutest kids ever!

Although this year, Thanksgiving was almost cancelled. My mother and sister both were sick with the "I'm going to throw up continuously for 12 hours" virus a mere 2 days before we were supposed to leave. My brother and his family were also sick with said virus...only they recovered much more quickly. The only thing worse than being that sick is knowing that 75 percent of the people that you have been in contact with are sick, and you are just waiting and waiting...because you know that you're the next to be doomed. I must have super immunity because I ended up vomit free! Thanks to many bowls of jello and saltine crackers...we all made it to Iowa and back...and still so far, so good!

I dodged all inquiries about my life thanks to a dispute between my mom and my aunt, the controversy of my cousin joining ROTC, and everyone keeping the little ones entertained. I also went shopping with my sister-in-law at 6 AM this morning. I was a little nervous because it was my first time going...and I just remember watching the news and seeing people who went shopping for the early bird specials getting run over by carts and elbowed in the face...all for a "Tickle Me Elmo". Cheryl made a list and she knew what she wanted so it was a quick trip and only involved some fast walking...no tackling, pushing or shoving required. It was fun...and a little crazy...I've never seen so many people lined up in front of a Target in all of my life!

Random things: Grey's Anatomy - I'm getting tired of it...Meredith will never be happy, who really cares about Burke and Christina, and Izzy...get over Denny already! Does anyone else not like pumpkin pie...or am I an outcast?! I'm not looking forward to putting up Christmas decorations even though I love Christmas. I might have gotten myself a job...a real one...maybe.
