to write as of late. Not that things aren't going on...because they most certainly are. I think it's just that I've got a lot of projects in various phases, and once I get these projects taken care of, I can have some time to put some thought down here.
I went to Monterey this past weekend and had such a great time. We went to the beach in Carmel and I got soaked. No, I wasn't planning on going in to the water, but I couldn't help myself. The people/dog watching opportunities were fantastic, and the beach was beautiful. After the beach, we headed to a restaurant with a cute little brick courtyard and had a gigantic chocolate chip cookie baked in a cast iron and covered with ice cream, whipped cream, and strawberries. Like whoa. A CAST-IRON FULL OF COOKIE! It's things like this that make me love vacation oh so much! We did the requisite chowder tasting on fisherman's wharf, spent the day at the aquarium, had a lovely experience at the super nice Tarpy's Roadhouse, and ended our trip with a quick run to see seals, beautiful coastal flowers, and get some hiking in at Point Lobos. I've been to Monterey 3 times prior to this trip, but have never seen so much of it!
