This above title has to do with a conversation with a co-worker about
"Deep Thoughts" by Jack Handy. I remember in high school, I thought it
was hilarious. Now...not so much.
Whoa, whoa, whoa. That's right. Procrastinating. So much "on the go" that it's a downtime day, a day to write thoughts (my writing has been suffering especially so, I guess having a full time job will do that to you).
Lately, I've been engrossed in Hondzabar's Great Adventures. This is just a fancy name for dogsitting a lovable, extremely hyperactive brittany named Hondo. I love the dog, I do, but he has an excessive amount of energy that running for miles does little to diminish. He's a hunter, but we live in a National Park. I mostly just feel bad for the guy, but do the best I can to keep him from eating the furniture, chewing on me (seriously!), digging endless holes in the backyard, and generally running the crazy out of him. It's no easy feat, to say the least.
I also have a wedding today! I went to a ton of weddings when I was 26 or so, and it's been some time since I last attended one. The one today is essentially in my backyard, so I don't have to travel far! And wedding cake is my favorite! I don't know why, but wedding cake always tastes better than birthday cake. I know it's because white cake and frosting is my favorite. Leave the chocolate for the suckers! *Am I really ending all of these sentence with an exclamation point? Yep.
Super excited for fall! Not super excited for my triathlon (it's gonna be painful?). Ready for Mammoth hotsprings and backpacking and Palm Springs! Ready for my new carpool partner (my old one went back home to Denver...boo!)! Ready for work to eventually slow down someday? I can only hope that this happens. Ready for whatever is coming next, and not even I know what that entails! The summer has been good to me, but I'm pretty much ready to listen to some John Mayer and fall in love.
