So...it's only day 3 of the last conference and so far I have been thrown for a loop in several ways. First of all...my kids this time...they're really good...I know?! It's hard for me to believe it as well.
Also, unexpected call from a family friend from long, long ago...he's a pilot now and is going to possibly fly in to see me sometime next week (I haven't seen him though for 5 years...I figure it either going to be super awkward or super fun)
Dave has unexpectedly come to work at our conference for the last session. Long story short...one of our operators was fired, he knows our associate director, he had some time...so he's here...and now I'm not quite sure what to do with that...
and last piece of crazy news...my grandpa is in the hospital. He's okay as far as we know but he's having a bit of heart trouble. It has always been my nightmare to have something happen to one of my family members while I'm gone and not be able to be there with them. It was especially stressful last night as I was supposed to be working but I couldn't really focus because I didn't know all of the details...just a cryptic message from my mom. But I talked to my Grandpa...he thinks that it's just the meds that he's taking and hopefully will recover just fine.
So if I seem a little distracted, a little out of it this week...it's because it's been an emotionally crazy roller-coaster like week...and it's just started...
