So I decided last week on a Tuesday to drive 12 hours to Colorado to see my dear friends from Glacier who are still living the seasonal life.
Here is why it was so wrong:
1) My plane from DC to KC touched down a mere 15 hours earlier before I left at 6:30 am on my way west
2) In the time that I was home I didn't have time for a nap, just laundry
3) I was out until 3:30 the night before
4) I had the beginnings of the worst cold ever
5) No one had driven my car for 2 months
Here is why I would do it all over again in a minute:
1) Getting to celebrate Lincoln's birthday
2) The Ron Show continues
3) The question game (at Beaver Creek and Steamboat...we must love it)
4) Seeing my girls again at Steamboat
5) Pretending to be a skiier without actually skiing
6) Freshie's for breakfast (an awesome place to eat in Steamboat)
7) Realizing I like Chi Tea
8) Seeing Dakota Fanning in the cafeteria (okay...it wasn't her but Lincoln thought it was)
9) Sledding (kind-of) and cookie dough
10) Jenny O and Lincoln kung foo fighting
11) Seeing Calvin...a guy from Glacier that I haven't seen for awhile
12) Hiding Dave's Texas ornament in random places around the apartment
13) Struggling to put the Harry Potter puzzle together (it was made for 5-8 year olds...something is wrong with me)
14) Lincoln bringing his bloopers tape from his newscasts and Dave slo-mo-ing it
15) Lunch at Hazie's...Jenny hooked us up with lots of free food and drinks (I hope she doesn't get fired)
15) Great conversation, awesome company, beautiful place...
Totally worth the tiredness, sickness and 25 plus hour drive. Sometimes the best decisions I make are the not so thought out ones...

Being reading a lot lately and feeling inspired. First up is a book borrowed from my sister, but it's actually my sister-in-law's ...

Your blog hasn't helped find out what you are going to do with your life. It almost seems like you don't know.... I should turn you in for false advertising.
This is the syntax police. We heard a rumor that Ms. Katie is being accused of false advertising. In truth, the title of her blog fits its contents. It promises to tell what she is doing with her life, if you are inquiring. It does not purport to know or explain her long-range plan, as The Calders seem to be implying. Her tense is present. What I AM doing with my life, not what I WILL BE doing.
The grammar gods have spoken.
Thanks for having my back, MJ...I could not have said it better myself!
As for my dear brother...I actually do not know what is next...it's all part of the fun. Thanks for reading though...I hope this blog keeps you informed in some sort of way!
eh... i'm for katie discovering what she wants in her own time.
