There's nothing like seeing a giant column of smoke right behind your house and trying NOT to panic. There is something instinctual there, and it should probably not be ignored. Unless, there are 5 helicopters running buckets of water and 3 DC-10s dropping flame retardant. The maybe you don't have to panic that much. Let's just say, I'm thankful for my neighbors with their soothing promises of, "this happens every year, and every year we're lucky!" Anyhow, it was all okay, thanks to the tireless work of the firefighters. I can't thank them enough. I know it's good money, but getting no sleep, inhaling a ton of smoke, and putting your life at risk sounds like something I don't want to do. So I'm thankful for them. Very much so.
It started with the fire, compounded with washing my cell phone, and ended with my car not starting and needing to be towed.
Next time, I'll put up some pretty pictures of happy times. Until then, I'm hanging in here!

Oh no! Did you jinx yourself in your last post, saying your 2010 phone was still going strong?
Did you try the phone-in-a-bag-of-rice-trick?
Haha! Totally the rice trick...and it worked (much to the chagrin of my poor boyfriend who is trying to get me to switch over to a smartphone)!
