It's Christmas again, and the years keep ticking by, faster and faster. I wouldn't really notice the years that have passed but my niece and nephews make it an undeniable fact. The oldest is 5 and the youngest a year and a half. That means Aunt Katie is getting older too!
I didn't get to go home, Missouri is just too far away and plane tickets at this time of year are just too expensive. Plus I used up all my annual leave time for a 2 week trip to Italy. So I'm here, and while at the start of the day I was fairly depressed, I started to think of all of the things that I have to be thankful for. I have many, one major part being employed right now in a place that I love, and I job I love (most days), with fantastic friends. So I'll take that over spending Christmas at home. I wasn't ALL alone for the whole Christmas. My housemate and I went to the employee dinner in Curry. It was much better than anything I could have made and they had 6 different types of pie to chose from (with fresh whipped cream)! Nice! And why it was a fairly low key Christmas, at least I wasn't snowed into some airport waiting for a standby seat. I hope that you weren't either! Next up on the list...Vegas for New Year's, and a trip to Death Valley. So excited! Happy Holidays
