City of Roses

Portland is known as The City of Roses...and we saw today why they call it that. Jolene and I went to Washington Square Park which included the International Rose Test Gardens. It was so pretty there...roses still in bloom even in Oct! Of course it was a foggy, cloudy day...but we're learning to accept that! We also illegally looked over the wall at the Japanese Garden (we were NOT going to pay admission to go into a garden), found random statues, looked at the Holocaust Memorial (yes, there is one in Portland), and went up to "the best overlook of Portland", Pittock Mansion. It was fantastic to be a super-tourist for the day...ridiculous pictures and all!
Job front: 1 interview, 1 more application in...and searching for jobs is exhausting!

It's good to have you back blogging. By the way, there's a Holocaust memorial in Boise too. You should have just moved here.
